Caramel Apple Cake


As shiny and gorgeous as they look, I really despise candy apples

The candy coating is hard AND sticky at the same time and it has this weird bitter twang to it (probably from overheated red food colour) that really put me right off them.

CARAMEL apples, however, are a whole different story of deliciousness.



Way back when, I used to work too close to a little place called the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, purveyors of the most amazing caramel apples you'll ever eat. 

If you ever find yourself near one of their stores, I beseech you, go in and buy yourself one of their Cheesecake Caramel Apples

Trust me, I don't often beseech.


Anyway, this cake is my little nod to the Caramel Apple. 

I've packed 6 whole apples into the sponge to counteract the homemade caramel goodness that's whipped into the icing and then drizzle on top .
